Vivian (nee Baldi) Mazzotti, Age 89, cherished daughter of Giovanni and Maria (nee Della Calce) Baldi; loving mother of Anna (nee Mazzotti) McGuire; proud grandmother to Alyssa and Emily McGuire; dear sister to Anna Iacolare and the late Teresa Procida, the late Rafael Baldi, the late Domenico Baldi and the late Carmine Baldi. Loving Aunt of many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

“Vivian was born and raised on a family farm in Salerno, Italy.  Vivian’s husband Joseph had come to America from Italy at the age of 18.  Vivian had never met him but knew his sister in Italy.  They began writing to each other via handwritten letters and he asked her to come be with him.  She bravely left her family in Italy and embarked on an unknown journey to America to meet him in 1971 at the age of 35.  They married shortly after she arrived, and welcomed their daughter, Anna, in 1972 at the age of 36. They resided in East Hazel Crest, IL, where she took care of her family. Later, Vivian became a seamstress at Roseland Draperies until she retired in 1995. After retiring, the family moved to Manteno, IL where she took care of her husband until his passing in 2001. She then moved to Frankfort, IL with her daughter where she spent the rest of her years helping raise her grandchildren, Alyssa and Emily.  Her family meant everything to her and kept her busy.  She enjoyed gardening, making homemade pasta, pizza, and biscotti.  Vivian gave her bags of pasta to everyone she knew, including the garbage man and mail lady. She made friends with everyone and looked forward to feeding neighbors and friends.  To know Viv, was to love her.  She fought Parkinson’s for many years but never let that stop her from all the things she loved doing.  Her spirit will live on in her daughter and grandchildren.  She is up in Heaven with all her loved ones, making sure everyone is well fed.  May she rest in eternal peace.” All arrangements entrusted to Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc.
