Eleni Angelos August 10,1936 – July 20,2021
The Services for Mrs. Angelos will be held all in one day on July 26th 2021. Friends and family are asked to gather for the visitation beginning 10:30 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church 11025 South Roberts Road Palos Hills Illinois 60465. Funeral Service will begin promptly at 11:30 AM and immediately after visitation. Eleni will be laid to rest next to her beloved Tony at Bethania Cemetery of Justice Illinois.
Eleni Angelos (nee Politis) passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 20, 2021; Eleni has gone on to join her husband, Tony Angelos, of 56 years. She is survived by her children Cynthia (George) Kyriakopoulos, Peter (Noula) Angelos, John (Georgia) Angelos and 6 grandchildren Tony, Jessica, Billy, Petroula, Eleni and Stephanie. She was born in Amaliada, Greece on August 10th, 1936 to Asimo (nee Vlhochristopoulou,) a homemaker, and Yianni Politis, a Master blacksmith. Her first 25 years were spent in Greece, where she graduated high school and had many friends. She came to America in 1961 by ship to be with her only sister the late Constantina ( the late Tom) Poulos. A dear friend, Gramatoula Janus, who was married to Asimaki, Tony’s cousin, took her to the Oak Lawn Snack Shop where her future husband, Tony, saw her and fell in love at first sight. He told everyone working he was going to marry “that girl”, which he did on July 29, 1962. Eleni was a loving sister-in-law of the late Angelo (Katina) Angelos, Loula (the late NIck) Stolis, the late Amalia (the late Peter) Deligiannis, the late Nick (the late Popi) Angelos, the late Akrivi (the late Dr. John) Christakis and fond thea of many nieces and nephews.
