The Visitation Services for Sean will take place Thursday August 5th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Maher Funeral Home, 17101 71st Avenue Tinley Park Illinois 60477 (1 Block East of Harlem Avenue on 171st Street). Friends and family asked to meet directly Friday morning at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church 608 Sobieski Street Lemont Illinois 60439, for the 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Sean will be laid to rest at Good Shepard Catholic Cemetery of Orland Park.
Sean Michael Bruin, 51, of Homer Glen, and formerly of Oak Lawn, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Wednesday afternoon, July 28, after a long and heroic battle with brain cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Tracee Marie Bruin (nee Reidy) for over 23 years. Devoted father of Mick, Conor, Danny, Luke, Shane, and Rosie. Dearest son of the late Kevin and the late Patricia Bruin. Loving brother of Kevin (Alana) and Tim (Wendy). Dear son-in-law of Peggy Reidy (the late Pat) and brother-in-law of Pat “P.J.” (Sandra) Reidy, Terri (the late Mike) Ruddy, Colleen Reidy, & Katie Reidy. Fun loving uncle of Ryan, Zac, Aiden, Max, Jack, Kevin, and Clare. And, dear cousin and friend to many. Sean dedicated his life to his family. The joy of his life was his six children. He loved spending time with them, whether coaching them in baseball, basketball, and soccer or taking them on annual trips to the Dells that he looked forward to each summer. He spent many years as an Athletic Commissioner and Holy Name Society Member for Ss. Cyril and Methodius Parish. He was an avid Chicago sports fan. He was hard working, strong, persevering, and courageously faced difficulties with a cheerful disposition. He was his family’s hero and he will be in their hearts forever. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday August 5 th at Maher funeral Home 17101 71 st street Tinley Park Illinois 60477 (1 Block East of Harlem Avenue on 171 st Street). Family and friends are asked to meet Friday morning at 10:00 AM, directly at SS.
