Peggy Sue Farina, 62, of Matteson, IL, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.  Peggy was born in Great Falls, Montana, on May 9, 1958, and grew up in Gurnee, IL, where she met her husband, Jack, of almost 45 years. Peggy worked as a Court Clerk for the Markham Courthouse for 23 years.  She was a hard-working and dedicated employee.  Peggy enjoyed being in the kitchen.  Her family and friends will miss her homemade meals.  If Peggy was not cooking, Peggy was probably shopping on QVC.  She probably owns every kitchen gadget they have aired on TV.  The QVC sales department will forever miss her.   If Peggy was not cooking or shopping, she was probably watching a Hallmark Christmas movie.  Peggy was known for her fierce independence, dedication to her job, cooking for her family, and most importantly, her love for her family and grandkids.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Jack Farina; one daughter and two sons; Jackie (Vinnie) Matthews; Ron (Maria) Farina; Vinny (Valerie) Farina; and four grandsons; Santino and Vincenzo Matthews and Andrew and Anthony Farina.  She is also survived by her two loving sisters, Anne (Jim) Bailey and Linda (Fred) Witte.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind her two furry-loved ones, Reno and Kia. She will be missed by family and countless friends.

The past year was difficult for Peggy outside of COVID.  She fought hard, rarely asked for help, and no matter how strenuous it got, she never complained. Those who knew her know she was a strong-willed woman, but had a heart of gold and would do anything for those she loved.

Visitation will take place at Maher Funeral Home at 17101 171st Avenue in Tinley Park (1 Block East of Harlem on 171st Street) Monday, December 14, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A prayer service will take place the following morning Tuesday from 11:00 to noon. Following, Peggy will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum located at 19500 South Cottage Grove Avenue, Glenwood, IL 60425.

MASKS MUST BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL TAKE PLACE!

There will also be another celebration of Peggy’s life which will be held sometime Spring/Summer 2021.
