Janusz Toporkiewicz June 6, 1957 – January 31, 2024
Visitation for Mr. Toporkiewicz will be held Tuesday February 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Maher Funeral Home 17101 71st Avenue, Tinley Park Illinois 60477 (1 Block East of Harlem on 171st Street). Chapel Service to begin at 7:30 PM. Janusz will be laid to rest at a later date.
The Toporkiewicz family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, those attending the funeral consider making a donation towards the medical and funeral expenses, to help us honor the loss of Janusz and in accordance with his wishes.
Janusz Toporkiewicz passed away suddenly at the age of 66. Survived by his Wife, Mariola, their three daughters, Joanna (Justin), Julie and Marta (Dimitri), his mother-in-law, Janina Troscianka, and his beloved grand daughter, Amelia. Janusz was born in June of 1957 in Strzelin, Poland and was raised by Helena and Bruno Toporkiewicz, along side his younger brother, Marek.
He came to the United States in 1986, with his wife, mother-in-law, and eldest daughter to follow in (1990?). Janusz worked as a stationary engineer with SEIU Local 1, but had an avid appreciation for cultivating plants, landscaping, and carpentry. He loved to help his family with construction on their homes and helping their gardens flourish. No project was too small or too difficult, he always wanted to help. In his finals days, he spent his time with friends and family working at Jedis Restaurant in Oak Lawn. Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc. entrusted with all arrangements.
