Dean Spiro Dussias, age 61, of Hinsdale, Illinois and Naples, Florida, passed away on June 14, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband of 35 years to Maria. Adoring father to Stephanie, Sammy, and Arthur. Loving brother to Tom Dussias, son-in- law of Elsa Kukulas, brother-in-law of Stacey Christos, and Paul Kukulas. Cousin, Uncle and best friend to many. Dean was an accomplished attorney, loyal friend, and man of deep faith, and he lived a life defined by generosity, laughter, and an unwavering love for those around him.
Dean was the beloved husband of his childhood sweetheart, whom he met when they were just eleven years old. Their love story spanned five decades and was the foundation of a beautiful life built on friendship, devotion, and family. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will be cherished forever.
Above all else, Dean was a family man. He was a proud and devoted father whose greatest joy came from spending time with his children. Whether traveling through Europe, gathering around the dinner table, sharing stories on the golf course, or enjoying time together in Naples, Dean believed life’s greatest treasures were the memories created with the people he loved most. His family was the center of his world, and he made each person feel deeply loved, supported, and valued.
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Dean attended Koraes Elementary School, Andrew High School, Loyola University, and the University of Illinois School of Law. He went on to build an extraordinary legal career, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout Illinois and beyond. As a founding principal of Dussias Wittenberg Koenigsberger LLP, Dean became one of the most respected family law attorneys in the state. He was consistently recognized among Illinois’ top attorneys, earning honors including Best Lawyers in America, Leading Lawyers, and Illinois Super Lawyers for nearly two decades. His leadership, integrity, and dedication to his profession were further recognized through numerous honors, including serving as President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and as a board member of the Hellenic Bar Association. Throughout his career, he was known not only for his legal expertise, but also for the compassion, wisdom, and humanity he brought to every client and colleague.
Dean approached life with enthusiasm and gratitude. He loved golf and treasured time spent at Butterfield Country Club, Naples National Golf Club, Chileno Bay Club, and The Dunes Club. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, listening to The Rolling Stones, and creating unforgettable experiences with family and friends. Whether on a golf course, traveling abroad, or simply sharing a meal with loved ones, Dean had a remarkable ability to make every moment memorable.
A proud Greek Orthodox Christian, Dean’s faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He loved his church, valued his faith deeply, and lived according to principles of kindness, generosity, humility, and service to others.

His quick wit, infectious laugh, and magnetic personality could light up any room he entered. There was simply no one else like him. Friends, family, colleagues, and even strangers were drawn to his warmth and authenticity. He was one of one. May His Memory be Eternal!
