Panagiotis Telemachos Tritsarolis, 74, of Chicago passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 7, 2021.
Panagiotis, nicknamed Markadasi, was born November 8, 1947 on Kefali of Kalamos Island, Greece. He began his legacy at 8 years old, herding goats where he was happiest, in the mountains of Kefali. After serving in the Greek military, he began working on Merchant Marine boats for 10 years, becoming the youngest chief steward and traveling the world. In 1976, he immigrated to America and settled in Chicago where he acquired Cal-Harbor Restaurant. He met his beloved wife, Donna, in 1982 and they were joined in marriage on February 14, 1984. Panagiotis and Donna worked together at their restaurant everyday until his brief retirement in September 2021. Panagiotis was looking forward to spending his retirement with his grandchildren, Phillip and Zoey who quickly became the highlight of his life. Panagiotis was a true family man who taught his wife and daughters the Greek language, traditions, customs and values. He exemplified his Greek culture with his filotimo to everyone he encountered. He was a true leventi and legend who will be indescribably missed by his family and all of his friends.
Panagiotis is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 37 years, Donna (nee Simmons), his daughters Chrisoula (Robbie) Kuntz and Mahi (Casey) Dugan and grandchildren, Phillip and Zoey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Telemachos and Chrisoula. Dear uncle both by blood and endearment of many. Loved and respected friend of countless people.
Visitation will be held on December 15, 2021 from 2-8pm at Maher Funeral Home 17101 71st Ave Tinley Park 60477 (1 Block East of Harlem Avenue on 171st Street).
