Mr. Stavrakos will be laid to rest at Bethania Cemetery of Justice Illinois.

Nick John Stavrakos, 88, of Oak Lawn passed away peacefully on Thursday with family at his side. Devoted and beloved husband of Martha (nee Kalogiannis) for over 61 years. Loving father of Maria, Janet (Rick) Flyer, Stephanie (George) Sigalos, and John (Janet) Stavrakos. Proud pappou of Arianna, Luke, and Katrina Sigalos and Niki Flyer. Loving brother of the late Dr. Charalambos (Maria) Stavrakos, the late Paul (Litsa) Stavrakos, Demetrios (Maria) Stavrakos, Fotini (the late Bill) Kliros. Dear brother-in-law of Georgia Kalogiannis. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Proud veteran of the United States Army. Born in Mavriki, Arcadia, Greece, on March 22, 1933, Nick immigrated to the United States in 1951. He was drafted into the US Army where he proudly served his country. After completing his studies at Devry Tech in Chicago, he accepted a position at ITT Kellogg and later Western ​Electric, where he worked as a supervisor of the electronics division. Subsequently, he became co-owner of restaurants Dutchie’s and Royal Inn in Oak Lawn. Still having an abundance of energy and not yet ready to settle into retirement, he advised and served other restaurants in the area. Nick was an avid gardener. His great joy was tending to his vegetables and flowers with his grandchildren (and granddog, Charlie, serving as his supervisor). Visitation Wednesday, December 8 from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at Sts.
