Services for Mr. Melitsopoulos will take place all in one day on Saturday October 17th at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 South Roberts Road Palos Hills Illinois 60465. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral service will immediately follow and begin at 10:30 AM. Peter will be buried alongside his loving sister Toula Rezos at Evergreen Cemetery of Evergreen Park.

Peter Melitsopoulos (Melis) passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Pete was born on December 18, 1932, in Planitero, Kalavryta, Greece, to Petros and Varvara Melitsopoulos. He immigrated to the United States and began working in various businesses. His most beloved business of over 50 years was selling Christmas trees on Chicago’s South Side. He loved baseball and the Chicago White Sox. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Kostantinos (Giota) Melitsopoulos, Toula Rezos, Pareskevi (Hlias) Xristodoulopoulos, and John Michaels. He is survived by his nephew Peter (Stacy) Rezos, niece, Jane (Steve) Vlahos, grandnephews John and Vasi, grandniece, Dia, brother-in-law, Vasilios Rezos, sister-in-law Elizabeth Michaels and other nephews, nieces and relatives in the US and in Greece .
