William “Bill” Cosmas September 21, 1936 – March 27, 2021

The Services for Mr. Cosmas will take place all in one day on Wednesday March 31st at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 South Roberts Road, Palos Hills IL 60465. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Funeral Service will begin promptly at 12:30 PM. Bill will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery of Evergreen Park Illinois.

William “Bill” Cosmas, 84 of Palos Hills and born of Parthenion, Tripoli, Greece passed away in the comfort of his wife on Saturday morning, March 27th. Beloved and caring husband of Katherine “Koula” (nee Diveris) of 58 years. Loving father to Bessie (Steven) Katsivalis and George (Amy) Cosmas. Proud grandfather to Katherine Katsivalis and Nicholas Katsivalis. Devoted brother to Gus (Loula) Chioros and the late James Chioros. Sweetest of uncles to Fr. George (Flora) Chioros, Bill (Joanne) Chioros, and Tina (Larry) Woods. Devoted Godfather to Peter (Janette) Fefles and Niko Visvardis. Fun-loving great-uncle to Dean, Deanna, Taylor, and Anthony. Cherished cousin to many in both Greece and Canada. “Mr. Bill’s” clever and joyful spirit live on in those who knew and loved him. After immigrating from Greece when he was fifteen, he went on to own and operate a coin laundry for many years while also supporting his brothers’ dreams to run their own businesses. Mr. Bill found time to travel to his cherished village of Parthenion almost yearly, and he took great pride in sharing his homeland with his wife, children, and grandchildren. After retirement, you could find Mr. Bill taking walks through the mall and solving the world’s problems with his buddies at the “kafeneio.” He will always be loved and remembered for the way he made others laugh, and his kind and gentle presence will be deeply missed. Visitation will take place Wednesday, March 31st from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 South Roberts Road Palos Hills Illinois 60465. The Funeral service will begin promptly at 12:30 PM. Masks must be worn at all times and social distancing is still in place. All attendees will be required to sign in.
