Lee (Λυγερή) Tsekeris February 5, 1929 – March 24, 2025
Services for Mrs. Tsekeris will take place all in one day on Saturday March 29th at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 South Roberts Road Palos Hills Illinois 60465. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Funeral Service to begin promptly at 1:30 PM and immediately after the visitation. Lee will be laid to rest at Bethania Cemetery of Justice.

Lee (Λυγερή) Tsekeris (nee Tsimbidis) fell asleep in the Lord on March 24, 2025, at the age of 96. Lee was a selfless mother, grandmother, and wife who cherished her faith and inspired others by her example of resilience and courage.
Lee grew up in Paleohori, Greece, as the youngest of ten children. She arrived in Chicago at the age of 26 and worked at Nabisco for 37 years, a testament to her unwavering work ethic. She devoted time to church, tended a beautiful home and garden, and perfected recipes from fresh bread to traditional pastries. She and her beloved husband of 64 years, Arthur (Αριστοτέλης), have two daughters, Ethel and Vera (Tim Gallagher ).
Lee was a proud yiayia and instrumental in raising her six grandchildren, Angela, Sofia, Aristotle, Alexander, Andrew, and John. Her home was always open for sleepovers, and she crocheted blankets for each grandchild as a pastime. She instilled in them the message to never fear hard work; she attended every one of their performances, ceremonies, and tournaments.
Lee’s family and friends will miss her graceful singing alongside the chanting at church, her knowing smile and winks, and her hospitality toward all. May her memory be eternal.
