Konstantinos (Gus) Gountounas November 21, 1931 – July 3, 2023
Visitation will be held on July 7, 2023 from 9 am to 10 am at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 15625 S. Bell Road, Homer Glen, IL 60491. His funeral will follow immediately after. He will be laid to rest at Bethania Cemetery of Justice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family for distribution to various charitable organizations.

Konstantinos (Gus) Gountounas, age 91, fell asleep in the Lord peacefully at home, surrounded by family on July 3, 2023. Beloved and devoted husband of Argyro (Angie) Gountounas nee Georgacopoulos for 61 years. Loving father of John (Barb) Gountounas, Esther (John) Spanos, Genie (George) Gountanis, and Louie (Michele) Gountounas. Loving grandfather of Bianca, Cody, Dennis, Sydney, Andrew, Connor and Samantha. Devoted son of the late Ioanni and Lambrini Gountounas. A dear brother to the late Foti and late Maria. Loved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, relative and friend to many.
Gus was born on November 21, 1931 in Rodaki (Kyparissia), Greece. In 1960, he moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he met Angie and started their family. They emigrated to Chicago in 1968, establishing roots with their family. He was employed as a machinist at Midwest Dental Products Corporation for 29 years. Gus loved Greek dancing, his Chicago sports teams, his daily walks, and spending time with his family.
