John Kritikos November 30, 1949 – May 10, 2025

Services for Mr. Kritikos will take place all in one day on Friday May 16 at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 2501 South Wolf Road Westchester, Illinois 60154. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. Funeral Service will take place immediately following the visitation promptly at 10:00 AM. John will be laid to rest among family at Elmwood cemetery of River Grove.

John Theodore Kritikos passed away suddenly but peacefully on Saturday May 10th, 2025 at Loyola Hospital. He was a loving husband, father and dear friend to many. John was born on November 30th, 1949, in Corinth Greece to Theodore and Eleni Kritikos. He immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 17. He worked as a skilled electrician. He married his beloved wife Monica on February 1st, 1997. He was a family man who devoted his life to making his loved ones happy. John’s enjoyment of life and adventure was contagious. He loved traveling with family, fishing, story telling, and had a deep appreciation for nature and the arts. He was an incredibly talented painter and poet and never missed the opportunity to tell a joke or story. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him and will be remembered for his kind and compassionate spirit. John is survived by his mother Eleni, wife Monica, former wife Ana, children Eleni (Chris Podgorski), Andriana, Paul, Sofia, grandson Sebastian, and siblings Tina (the late Peter) Manasses, Maria Minakis, Vicky (Gus) Panos, Peter (Franny) Kritikos, and Christina (Jim) Jorgensen. May his Memory be Eternal! A funeral in honor of John will be held at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church on Friday May 16th at 10am, visitation at 9:30am.
