Services for James will take place all in one day on Saturday January 9th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Palos Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 South Southwest Highway Palos Hills ( Next to McDonalds) Service will begin promptly at 7:15 PM.

James R. Barclay died on January 5, 2021 in South Holland, Illinois at the age of 62 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. James was born on November 21, 1958 and was soon after adopted by Ester and James Barclay. James was the husband to Robin; Loving father of Eric (Sarah), James (April), Tony (Jessica), Michael, and Amy (Kevin); Proud PaPa to Tommy, Landen, Hailey, Josh, Samantha, Morgan, Lexi, Tony Jr, Arabella, Nolan, Dixie Mae, Sadie, and Brennan; Faithful friend to Phyllis, Michael, Bianca, and Braulio; Animal lover and dog owner (Cookie). He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lori. James was a man of few words, but had an enormous heart. Following high school, James joined the USMC and served his country proudly. He was a printer for his entire adulthood before he took care of his ailing mother. Nothing made him happier than being with his grandchildren. His family has countless memories that will always bring a smile to their faces. James enjoyed going to Old Country Buffet, Thrift Stores, Dollar Stores, Brookfield Zoo, and going for nature walks. He was a dedicated Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings fan. Comic books, watching a good movie, playing Risk and Yahtzee, reading a book, doing yard work, watching the news, playing pool/bowling/golfing/fishing, cheering on his family in extracurricular activities, and being with his family were some of his favorite hobbies. A man of few words who taught us so much with his never-ending love. Visitation Saturday January 9th, at The Palos Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 South Southwest Highway (7700 W) Palos Hills Illinois 60465, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Service begins at 7:15 PM with Reverend Steven Hoerger officiating. Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc. handling all arrangements.
