George Edward Poulos March 18, 1932 – June 20, 2024

Visitation for Mr. Poulos will take place on Monday June 24th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Palos Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 South Southwest Highway Palos Hills Illinois 60465. Trisagion Service 6:30 PM. Friends and family are asked to meet Tuesday morning directly at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church 7560 Archer Road, Justice Illinois 60458 for the 10:30 Funeral Service. George will be laid to rest at Bethania Cemetery of Justice.

The Poulos family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers you make a donation to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in George’s name.

George Poulos, age 92 of Palos Hills passed away peacefully in the company of his family on June 20th , 2024. George was born on March 18th , 1932 in Chicago to George and Dimitra Poulos. George is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Maria nee Papadopoulos. Loving father of Christine Barker and proud grandfather to Jonathan and Nicholas Barker. He was the youngest of 6 siblings, late brother John (Charlotte) Poulos, late sister Helen Poulos, late sister Ethel (late Charles) Fritz, late brother Eddie (Marge) Poulos and late brother Peter Poulos. Dearest brother-in-law to the late Vasiliki (late Kostantinos) Siotos, late John and Sophia Deves, Eleni (late Taki) Touranakou, late Mimi and Taki Katserou, Areti and Kostantinos Milonas, Angeliki (late George) Barlas, Tom and Katerina Papadopoulos, Jimmy and Karen Papadopoulos and Christine and George Koutsoumbas. Cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. George was the proud owner of Vacation World Travel. He loved planning vacations for people. It was his passion. He also worked for Alitalia Airlines and for TWA as a salesman. He also served 2 years in the United States Air Force. George was also very fond of his garden and hanging out with his friends and family. He adored his grandchildren and loved going to all of their football games, baseball games and music concerts.
