Frank A. Bella, Jr., 92, of Flossmoor, IL, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, at home with his family. He was born on April 5, 1931 to Frank and Gertrude Bella in Blue Island, IL. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and his six close knit siblings; Ronald, Phyllis, Joseph, Mary and John. Frank is survived by his beloved wife Maureen(O’Hara). Frank was the loving father of Michelle, Frank(Lauren), Mark(Angelique); and proud grandfather to Gretchen, Hannah, Emily, Audrey and Shaylee. Frank was also an adoring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Frank spent his early years in Blue Island with his family having close ties to their church St. Isadore. He attended high school at Divine Word Seminary in East Troy, WI. Then, he enlisted in the Army and upon discharge worked in San Diego and then studied in Mexico City. When he returned to Blue Island, he obtained his college degree at Loyola while beginning his work in the real estate field. As he valued education, Frank also received his Masters from Loyola University. Frank began his own real estate company that continued for over 60 years. Frank was passionate about real estate and built, purchased and owned many residential and commercial buildings over the years. In addition to his real estate practice, he also was a CCIM real estate instructor for over 30 years, traveling to many states in the US and even China to teach commercial real estate classes. He was active in many organizations including the Elks, the Lions and Moraine Valley Community College. He met the love of his life, Maureen, in Chicago and married, spending 57 happy years together. They began their family while living in Blue Island, and then moved to Flossmoor in 1972 where they remained until his death. During those years, Frank enjoyed many nights and days of tennis, gourmet food club, black tie galas and other happy memories with cherished friends. After their children were grown, Frank with Maureen followed their love of travel with many trips abroad. Frank believed in gathering people together to celebrate and enjoy life. Everyone who spent time with him knew of his sharp wit and legendary jokes. His real joy came with the arrival of his five granddaughters. He loved to visit them, travel with them and connect with them whenever he could. In his last years, as he struggled with his illness, his penchant for laughter, love and joy always remained. His spirit will live on in all his children, grandchildren and all who knew him. He will never be forgotten. All arrangements entrusted to Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc.
