Evangelos “Angelo” Kotsones August 10, 1939 – December 16, 2022

Visitation Wednesday December 21st, 2022 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 S. Kolmar Avenue Oak Lawn, Illinois from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral service 10:00 AM and immediately following visitation. Evangelos will be laid to rest at Bethania Cemetery of Justice Illinois.

Evangelos “Angelo” Kotsones, age 83, from Geraki Laconia, Greece, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022. Beloved husband of Eleni, nee Floros for 49 years; loving and devoted father of Christ Kotsones; dear brother of the late Elias (Dena) Kotsones; cherished brother-in-law of Spiros (Athanasia), the late Kostas (Patricia), and the late Panagiotis (Andromahi) Floros. Fond uncle, cousin, and friend here and in Greece.
Evangelos was born in Geraki Laconia, Greece on August 10, 1939 to the late Hristos and Diamando. Before emigrating to the United States in 1967, he was a police officer for eight years in Greece. Evangelos was a devoted employee of Nabisco Corporation for 47 years. Despite the difficulties Evangelos faced in his life in America, he managed to overcome them and fought to accomplish the goals that he had envisioned. Through hard work, dedication and perseverance, he built a better life for himself and his family. Evangelos went above and beyond the call of duty to provide for his family, who will forever be grateful for his sacrifices.
At some point of his life, Evangelos was involved in two Hellenic American non-profit organizations (past President of Gerakion Society and past member of the Pan-Laconian Federation of the United States and Canada) whose mission was to preserve and promote the Hellenic culture and traditions, more specifically the Laconian heritage. Evangelos was a wise, hard working and generous man, that the people whose lives he touched will never forget him.
Family and friends are asked to meet for visitation on Wednesday December 21st, 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church 10301 S. Kolmar Ave. Oak Lawn, Il. Interment Bethania Cemetery, Justice, Il. Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc. entrusted with all arrangements.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials to be made in accordance to family wishes.
