Dennis D. Xenos, 77, of Palos Hills, IL and born in Exohora, Zakynthos, Greece, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, February 17th after a valiant fight of almost two years with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marina (née) Triantafillou, for over 50 years; the cherished father of Marietta (Michael) Igoe, Helen (Themis) Raftis, and Nick Xenos; loving grandfather to Marina and Paul Raftis. Dennis was born in Zakynthos in 1943, to a large family of four brothers and one sister. At only 13 years old he left for Athens, on his own, to go to school and work to support his family. This established a work ethic he continued throughout his lifetime. He traveled quite a bit with the Merchant Marines of Greece and loved to regale others with his stories of that time. Dennis was always generous, kind, and had a beautiful, heart-felt smile at the ready for anyone he encountered. He loved his Chicago Bulls (no matter how bad they got), fishing, was undefeated at dominoes and backgammon, and was the life of any party. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband, a wonderful provider, and a genuine friend. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Visitation Monday February 22nd 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church 11025 South Roberts Road Palos Hills Illinois 60465.
