Andreas Malamis, 89, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away on March 29, 2023. He was born July 20, 1933 to Anastasios and Georgia Malamis in Andritsena, Greece. He was a beloved man, a successful restauranteur, and a devoted father, uncle and grandfather. Andreas was a man of great integrity and loyalty, whose life touched so many in profound and meaningful ways. Andreas is survived by his children Taso (Nora) Malamis, George (Kathy) Malamis; grandchildren Eleftheria Malamis and Andreas Malamis; his sister-in-law Stavroula (Akela) Karampelas, niece and nephew Georgia Malamis, Taso (Sofea) Malamis and Dean (Raji) Karampelas; his great-nieces and nephew Stavroula, Maria, Vasiliki and Zafirios. He immigrated to Canada from Greece and opened his first restaurant with his cousin Nick Koukos. They quickly became valued members of the local community. Over time, their business grew, and they became well respected and loved for their delicious culinary masterpieces, excellent service, and friendly atmosphere. But, Andreas’ greatest achievement was his family. He was a loving and devoted father to his two sons, Taso and George. He adored his two grandchildren Eleftheria and Andreas. He instilled in them his values of hard work, integrity, loyalty and love. Andreas was a father who was always there for his children and family by providing unwavering support through all of life’s ups and downs. He was a kind and generous person who always put others first and was dependable and honest. Andreas’ legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. His passing leaves a deep void in our hearts, but his memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. Rest in peace Dad. May your memory be eternal and your legacy continue to shine brightly. All arrangements entrusted to Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc.
