Private Services will be held at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Palos Hills. Evie will be laid to rest among family at Evergreen Cemetery of Evergreen Park Illinois.

Virginia (Evie) Bekiares Chimoures passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Pittsburgh, PA on November 2, 2025, at the age of 108 1/2. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, her parents, Marika (Triandafilou) and Christos Bekiares, and also four siblings, Florence Kutselas, Urania Foufas, Thomas Bekiares, and Artemis Saks.
Mother to Cynthia Henry (Walt) of Pittsburgh, PA, Pamela Charin (Craig Keats), of Fairfax, VA , John Chimoures, of Austin, TX, former son-in-law, Roger Charin of McLean, VA, grandmother to five, pro-yiayia to three. Aunt to nieces and nephews.
Evie had a true zest for life that kept her spirit young and active and never acknowledged or accepted any age-related limitations. She drove her car until the age of 95, feted her 100th birthday among family and friends, attended Chicago Cubs baseball games with her family until her 106th, and went out for a haircut and a chocolate soda on her 108th birthday.
Born and raised on the north side of Chicago, Evie graduated from Amundsen High School, attended Mundelein College and the Art Institute of Chicago. At a young age Evie displayed exceptional talent in the fine arts which developed into a life-long passion for drawing and painting.
Services were private, at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church and Evergreen Cemetery.
