Tom Gay, 66, of New Lenox passed away on October 22, 2021. Tom leaves behind his loving wife Linda, children Jason (Judy), Steve (Brooke), Doug (Jenny) and Lauren Sears (Danny), his grandchildren Odin, Cooper, Silas, Jack, Luke, Quinn and Ellie that he loved so very much. Tom is survived by his brother Rich (Helen) and sisters Janet Dawson, Karen Romanski (Ed) and Sandy Lukaszewicz (John). He is preceded in death by his mother Virginia and father Steve. Tom was born in Chicago and met his high school sweetheart Linda at Thornton High School. They started a family and moved to New Lenox. Tom was a car hauler for 30 years before multiple sclerosis (MS) started to impact his life. Even though MS took so much from Tom, he was a devoted Christian and inspirational person for many that knew him. He always had a smile on his face and words of encouragement for everyone he talked with. He was an active member at Lincolnway Christian Church where he maintained many great relationships. He loved watching and discussing the White Sox, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks with everyone. He loved a good guitar solo and listening to Classic Rock. He also loved fishing and spending time at his cottage on Gunn Lake in Michigan. He will be missed by all since he truly was an inspiration to many people. He is no longer in pain, and we take comfort in knowing that he is standing and running through heaven.
