Robert (Bob) Weitendorf, 87, of Romeoville, and formerly of Hickory Hills, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday afternoon, August 19, 2021. Bob was a beloved husband, devoted father and dedicated grandfather. Bob was married to the love of his life, Bernadine (Bernie) nee Kurzawski, for 59 years. Bernie survives him along with his sons Rob (wife Sandy) and Brett (wife Tammy). He is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle, Austin, Stephanie and Gavin and 14 nieces and nephews. Bob was a loving brother to Elda (late), Norb, Artie (late), Elaine, and Kenny (late). Bob dedicated his life to his family and community. The joy of his life was his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, was extremely involved in each of their lives and never missed an event. Bob was very involved in his community over the years to include holding numerous leadership positions with Hickory Hills Youth Baseball and the local youth football team, Hickory Hills Rebels. Bob held a special place in his heart for faith and service as active member and leader of Sertoma (Service to Man Kind). Throughout his 40 years of dedication to Sertoma, Bob served in many capacities to include president multiple times. Bob also loved Grace Lutheran Church in Willow Springs where he was a parishioner for over 50 years and an Elder for many of them.
