Michael James Lonergan (69) stepped peacefully into loving eternity with his family at his side the afternoon of November 30th, 2022. He is survived by his three girls: Erin Marie Lonergan (34), Megan Marie Lonergan (31), and Kaleen Marie Lonergan (29) as well as his former wife/forever best friend Georgianna Lonergan (nee Flynn). Brothers: Thomas Lonergan, James Lonergan and sister: Margaret (Lonergan) Lickus. Loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. He is also the proud granddad of his furbabies Baxter, Scottie, Stiles, Duncan, Max and Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents Jaqueline Claire Lonergan (nee Vitha) and Thomas Joseph Lonergan and his beloved brother, the late Lawrence (Larry) Lonergan (Nancy). Dad dedicated 45 years of service to the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) Local 134. Dad spent his life working until he physically couldn’t anymore. He spent his life providing nothing but the best for his family. He took pride in his craftsmanship and had a massive skill set. If something was broken- Dad could fix it. You’d think (we) his girls would have inherited some of these handyman skills. We did not. What we did inherit was far more valuable. A kind tender heart, a quick wit, the knowledge that a good cup of tea heals most things, and a hard working spirit with family at the center. Always. He taught his girls how to work hard. He taught the value of a dollar and the importance of planning for the future. He didn’t have to constantly say ‘I love you’ for us to know how much he deeply did. It was felt in his presence and the softness of his voice. Dad didn’t need fancy vacations or lavish gifts; just his family at his side. We will miss your big calming hugs, the feeling of security in your arms, and your effervescent smile. We love you Dad. Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc. entrusted with all arrangements.
