Services for Maria will take place all in one day on Tuesday July 15th at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 12307 Ridgeland Avenue, Palos Heights Illinois 60463. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral Service will begin promptly at 10:00 AM immediately following the Visitation. Maria will be laid to rest alongside her beloved parents and brother at Evergreen Cemetery of Evergreen Park.

Maria Meintanis, age 62, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted daughter, sister, cousin, and friend, Maria brought warmth, faith, and a vibrant spirit to everyone she met. She was the beloved daughter of the late James and Mary Meintanis and the cherished sister of the late John Meintanis. Though her immediate family has gone before her, Maria was never alone—she was deeply loved and supported by several devoted cousins and friends who remained close throughout her life. Maria was an active member of Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, where her faith guided her every step. She participated in church life with great joy, contributing her time, her voice, and her heart to the church she held so dear. Known for her outgoing nature and truly unique personality, Maria lit up every room she entered. She had a gift for conversation, a quick wit, and a warmth that made others feel instantly welcome. She was full of life, love, and laughter — a soul who left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Maria’s memory will live on in the hearts of her loving cousins, dear friends, and all those fortunate enough to have shared in her journey. Funeral services will be held at Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, with interment to follow.
