James “Demetrios” Rogiokos July 20, 1932 – August 12, 2023

Services for Mr. Rogiokos will take place all in one day on Thursday August 17th at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 Kolmar Avenue, Oak Lawn Illinois 60453. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Service will take place immediately after and start promptly at 11:00 AM. James will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery of Evergreen Park.

In Loving Memory of James G. Rogiokos:

James G. Rogiokos, age 91 passed away peacefully at his home on August 12, 2023. Beloved husband of Anna for 64 years. Son of the late George & Vasiliki Rogiokos. Beloved father of George (Karen) Rogiokos, Elaine (James) Nicholas and Bessie Sepsis. Cherished grandfather of William and Demetri Sepsis, Louis and James Nicholas. Brother of the late Rigas (Evangelia) Rogiokos and sister of Evangelia (Chris) Barlas. He was born on July 20th, 1932, in a village of St. Nicholas (Argos), Greece. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 19 years old. James proudly served in the United States Army for two years and was honorably discharged. He was stationed in Germany, where he developed a deep appreciation for different cultures and a love for travel. James’ time in the military instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of discipline that he carried throughout his life and in his family. James was also a successful entrepreneur in the produce business. James’ greatest joy in life was his family and faith. He was a long-time member at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. He was a constant source of love, guidance, and support and his presence will be deeply missed. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family.
