There will be a Visitation for Helen on Saturday January 2nd starting at 10:00 AM at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church 15625 South Bell Road in Homer Glen. Immediately following the Visitation will be the Funeral Service which will begin at 11:00AM. The Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. The Family of Helen kindly asks that in Lieu of flowers, Memorials be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund.
Helen Condes nee Plakas, 88 of Lansing formerly of and born in Perivolia, Megalopolis Greece to parents who were from Asia Minor and Icaria. Fond wife of Samuel (Sotirios) C. Condes, loving mother of Harriette (Tassos) Zervakis and Johnny Condes. Devoted grandmother of Samuel Constantine Condes and Peter Nicholas Zervakis. Daughter of the late Ioannis and Dimitroula Plakas. Sister of the late Maria (late Dimitrios) Tsonopoulos, Harry (Helen) Plakas and Kostas (Roula) Plakas. Sister-in-law of the late Nicholas (late Lina) Condes and Charles C. (late Phyllis) Condes. Loving aunt to nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and dear friend to many. Helen graduated from Megaloplois High School and later came to Chicago as a bride. She worked for 10 years at Harvstone Mfg. Corp. in Chicago. Helen was known for her generous hospitality, sweet singing voice, sense of humor, dancing and elegant style. A member of the Assumption Philoptochos Society and the Pan-Icarian Association.
