Dimitrios Hatzelis August 18, 1946 – November 12, 2021

Visitation: Wednesday November 17th, 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a 6:30 Trisagion Service at Maher Funeral Home 17101 71st Ave, Tinley Park, IL 60477 ( 1 Block East of Harlem Avenue on 171st Street).

Friends and family asked to meet directly at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 South Roberts Road Palos Hills Illinois 60465, Thursday morning November 18th for 10:00 AM Funeral Service. He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Dimitrios Hatzelis passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 12th, 2021. Dimitrios was born in Thessaloniki, Greece on August 18th, 1946. Beloved husband of Valentina Hatzelis. Loving father (Baba) of Christine (Thomas) Hollingsworth, Wenonah (Dennis) Skibola, Laki Hatzelis, and Dimitrios Hatzelis. Loving grandfather (Papou) to Brock Hollingsworth, Rocco Skibola, and Carmella Skibola. Dimitrios was an avid soccer player in Greece. After traveling the world as a Merchant Marine, Dimitrios came to the United States. He worked as a plumber before entering into the restaurant business. He spent his retirement working alongside his family in their real estate business. Dimitrios was a proud family man survived by a strong and loving family. May his memory be eternal.
