Androniki “Micky” Baffes [nee Revell], age 79, passed away on January 8, 2026. Androniki touched the lives of all who knew her through her strength, generosity, and unwavering love and loyalty rooted in her devotion to God, family, and friends. Androniki was a loving daughter of Georgia and Andrew Reveliotis “Revell,” and born in Nestani, Greece, on March 9, 1946. Androniki was a loving sister to Phillip Revell and Athena Revell. Androniki came to Chicago, Illinois when she was eight years old with her mother and brother, to be with her family and sister, who were already in Chicago. Androniki met her late husband, Lefterios Baffes, in 1967, and they were married three months later. Androniki and the late Lefterios were happily married for 54 years, and through their marriage they had three children: Nicholas (Jane) Baffes, Anastasia Baffes [Kilias], and Georgia Baffes, and five grandchildren: Vivian Kilias, Lefteri Baffes, Georgia Kilias, Andrea Baffes, and Andriana Kilias. Androniki was a sister-in-law to Marge Revell, the late Bessie Vergados (nee Baffes) and the late John Vergados, the late Bill and Dina Baffes (nee Panagopoulos), and the late Pete Baffes, and Anastasia Baffes. Androniki was an aunt, friend, cousin, and godmother to many. Androniki took such a strong pride in her children and grandchildren, and found no greater joy than her years spent devoted to being a mother and “yiayia”. Androniki worked a job as a bank teller in the 1960s, and helped her husband, Lefterios, in owning and running their multiple restaurants, Mickey’s Gyros and Mickey’s Big Scoop sweet shoppe. Androniki enjoyed tending to her garden in the spring, planting flowers, watching Little House on the Prairie and Everybody Loves Raymond, having her friends over for coffee and kouloria, and cooking the best meals for her loved ones. Androniki’s strength was truly extraordinary. She endured her hardships with remarkable faith and quiet strength, never allowing them to diminish her spirit, love or generosity. Androniki’s love became an unwavering and strong-rooted force that carried her family through every season of life. Visitation for Androniki will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 S Roberts Rd, Palos Hills, IL 60465, and her services will be held from 11:00 AM onward where family and friends will gather to honor her life and reflect on the legacy she leaves behind.
