Services for Koula will take place all in one day on what would have been her 86th birthday. Visitation Tuesday, September 29th from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 South Roberts Road Palos Hills Illinois 60465. Funeral service to begin immediately after the visitation promptly at 11:00 AM. Koula will be laid to rest alongside her beloved William at Evergreen Cemetery of Evergreen Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be made in Koula’s name to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

Katherine “Koula” Cosmas, 85 of Palos Hills and born of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of Wednesday, September 23rd. She was preceded in death by William Cosmas, her loving husband of 58 years. She is survived by her children Beth (Steven) Katsivalis and George Cosmas. Proud grandmother to Katherine (Peter) Simantirakis and Nicholas Katsivalis. Beloved great-grandmother to Stavros Simantirakis. Devoted Sister to Elaine (George) Karnezis. Most cherished aunt, devoted godmother, sassy great-aunt, and beloved cousin to many.
Koula’s life was centered around the fellowship of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Her outgoing, larger-than-life personality made her a natural at welcoming others into the community. She devoted herself to the church as a member of the choir for 76 years, most of which were spent serving as its president. In her later years, she volunteered in the Church Office where she found joy in speaking with parishioners in both Greek and English and spending time with the children attending Koraes. Koula was fiercely authentic, quick-witted, and caring towards all who crossed her path. She was a friend and source of joy to many, and she will be greatly missed. May her Memory be Eternal!
