Services for Mr. Taylor will take place all in one day on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Saint Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 E. Fifth Ave., Aurora, IL 60504. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM promptly after the visitation. Dempsey will be laid to rest among the brave men and women of our military forces at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to be distributed according to Dempsey’s wishes.

Dempsey Wayne Taylor, age 66, passed away on August 16, 2025, in Naperville, Illinois surrounded by family and friends. Born on May 7, 1959, in Akron, Ohio to Dempsey Earl Taylor and Ruth M. Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey and Ruth Taylor, and his Grandparents, James Eurban Taylor and Velma Taylor, George Burton Greene and Evelyn R. Greene. He is survived in life by his loving wife Charise, two children, George and Alexandria Taylor and his three siblings Cindy (Lundy) Riley, James (Cheryl) Taylor, and Patty Taylor (Jeff Beaver), as well as his many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and friends Kim (Wayne) Fincannon, and many more. Dempsey graduated from Springfield Senior High School 1978 and went on to complete higher education in the form of Trade education. Dempsey proudly served in the United States Army as part of the 3rd Armored Division from 1986 to 1989. After his military service, he dedicated himself to a long and steady career as a commercial HVAC technician. But of all his accomplishments, Dempsey’s proudest work was the life he built with his family. Dempsey was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need. He found joy in gardening, fishing, and spending time with those he loved most. He was also known for his ability to befriend anyone at any time, and share the light he had with anyone who crossed his path. His deep Orthodox Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he lived with quiet strength and devotion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to be distributed according to Dempsey’s wishes. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory be eternal.
