Angela Lynn Spatharakis peacefully passed away on September 13th, 2022 after a hard fought 3 year battle with ALS. Angela Spatharakis was born on October 26th, 1971 in Illinois to Marsha Ciccone and late Robert Jonas. She was a loving sister to Michelle Jonas and Step daughter to Bill Ciccone. She graduated from Carl Sandburg High School and went on to study nursing at Loyola University and Central DuPage Hospital. She worked as a nurse in the ICU burn unit for 10 years where she displayed her boldest characteristics: courage, bravery, compassion, and patience. A true golden heart. Angela went on to marry Gus Spatharakis on May 23rd, 1998 and have four beautiful children Yanni, Athanasia, Dimitri, and Alex. As a mother she brought her boldest characteristics that she had developed throughout her life and brought them to parenting. Words cannot describe the monumental effort Angela put into being a parent and loving wife. This balance garnered an amazing family household. Outside of the family, she was an amazing friend and displayed her tough will and perseverance through being an excellent athlete.  She was a track runner, martial artist, weightlifter, and above all a runner. She successfully completed 2 Chicago Marathons along with numerous other races. She never failed to give one hundred percent effort in anything she did and displayed that until the very end. A humble, loving, and gentle soul Angela will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew her. Orrico Kourelis Funeral Services Inc. entrusted with all arrangements.
