Tom “Athanasios” Kakos, 77, of Palos Hills, formerly of Skepasto, Kalavryta, Greece, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon on December 17th at Christ Hospital and Medical Center of Oak Lawn with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Toula nee Moraetes for over 49 years. Loving father of Patricia (George) Vythoulkas, the late Joannie (Nick) Christopher, and Peter (Georgia) Kakos. The greatest ever good-natured Pappou of Anthony, Thanasi, Stefanos, Vasilis, and Matthew. Dedicated and proud Protopsalti of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Oak Lawn for over 32 years. MAY HIS MEMORY BE ETERNAL! Services will begin Wednesday morning December 20th. Mr. Kakos will lay in state at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church 10301 South Kolmar Ave, Oak Lawn during The Divine Liturgy from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Visitation will follow and begin at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The Funeral service will then begin at 11:00 AM. The Interment will take place at The St. John Chrysostomos Monastery in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
