Services for Mr. Ekja will be held Monday February 12th from 3-9 PM with a 6:30 chapel service at the Palos Funeral Home located at 11028 South Southwest Highway Palos Hills. Richard Francis Ekja “Rich”, 92 of Chicago Garfield Ridge formerly of the Bridgeport neighborhood, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon February 8th at LaGrange Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Helen for over 40 years. Loving father of Sandy (Joe) Zumerling. Dearest Grandfather of Joseph R. Zumerling (Stephany) and Lauren M. Zumerling. Beloved Great Grandfather of Joseph Raymond Zumerling. Proceeded in death, by his parents, Martha and Rudolph Ejka. Dear brother of Benjamin, Frank, John, and Donald (Nancy).
